Happy Birthday To You, Sis!

She turns 25. Time flies and the tomboyish sister, grew up to such a sensible demure girl I believed only the luckiest guy'd be loved by her. Though sis never really tried working since she finished school, she has been such a helping hand to the family. I must have been the luckiest elder sister who is spared from housework. Not only that, my sis is always there whenever I need her. Often I felt less of a woman compared to her. She can cook to feed me. I'm just so lazy and demanding. I hardly lift a finger to help iron clothes, wash dishes, keep the house tidy and I never massage my mum. That is my capable Sis's routine.

While Sis was out with mum in the morning, I decided to do part of her routine. I took 4hours to clear up my home with Shasha's participation. My kid sis takes after a whole lot of me. We can never do something on our own. I shouted for her to do things and she did the same. We burst out laughing at our hopeless selves. I felt sorry about how I always ordered Sis around to get my errands done. She never disappoints me ever. I do not know how I'd survive without her, honestly. If there's afterlife, I'd still want her as my beloved sister cos I love her so much and I thank God for giving us a second chance to live together by not taking her Home when we were involved in an accident 18years ago. I'm very much a family-person and my parents always remind us that we have to cherish our siblings the most. Perhaps that is why I never had really terrible fights among us. I must have been truly blessed.

We, the trio went for ice-cream. It was so much fun having the company of my lovely two sisters to share our orders. Sis enjoyed the lil treat. I'm looking forward for more fun time with my siblings. Just heard from Mama that we will be heading for Chek Jawa this Sunday. Woohoo..

love

I will be having two papers next week. Accounts on Valentines' Day is just so apt; being it my loved subject. I've only attended tutorials once and now I'd be tested on the covered topics. Logically, I'd be attempting the questions so that I'd not be fighting a sure-lose battle. I do not wish to end up "dreaming" of Accounts questions. Speaking from a recent experience of me waking up and wanted to complete them badly. I ended up procrastinating yet again. Moments ago, I shopped online while looking for information on my Marketing project.Just how exactly did surfing the net on Samsung's technology changes for LCD TV turn out to several clicks via Paypal..
I-HAVE-ABSOLUTELY-NO-IDEA =P

Colleagues talked about never receiving flowers in their lives. One said that her husband told her if she wanted roses, he'd buy a pot and she can grow them for all she wants. Roses on V-day are sold at unreasonably priced, he rather burn that money on cigarettes and 4D..

Another said the only time her husband got her flowers was on one particular wedding anniversary. That was the first and the last. Years went by and V-day was just a normal day. Someone made a lame joke.. "Maybe the last has yet to come cos you haven't die yet!?... "

I've been received bouquets a number of times. In fact if my memory didn't fail me, the florist "loved" the man who used to woo me. He was buying tulips every time he made me upset or he felt like surprising me at home or in the office where we worked together. Fresh tulips decorated my room almost weekly. When I finally got my msg across that I wasn't interested in him, in the most tactful and firm way I'd, I stopped having to clear withered flowers off my room. We are never friends till today.

Back in Sec school days, I used to think it's sweet to receive roses on V-Day but I never did. The local boys never interest me. Perhaps they were intimidated by this tall girl with big hair who laughs uncontrollably every time. Which guy'd want to embarrass himself being my date then? Times have changed. ; ) The big hair is still there, coloured and outstanding, awe by many (aunties.. lol) I've not grown any much taller now. Heels are my lurves, nevertheless. I remember I wanted to be 1.78m and my ideal bf was to be at least 1.82m. Of cos, I still have that joyful nature which is wildly infectious.

It was only till I keep getting flowers from men I don't fancy that I realise; it actually depends on who they were from that matters more than how big or how pretty the bouquets are or if I finally receive natural blue tulips. I won't mind buying my own flowers either. I believe that I do not need my man to propose to me cos I can decide who I want to spend my life with. I bought my own diamonds. Practically, I prefer cash on any special occasion..

RenRi

Today marks the seventh day, traditionally known as renri 人日, the common man's birthday, the day when everyone grows one year older, which coincides with my sister's actual Lunar birthday. It is the day when tossed raw fish salad, yusheng is eaten. People get together to toss the colourful salad and make wishes for continued wealth and prosperity. We headed to a nearby Thai Chinese Food Restaurant, Segar. Dad ordered yusheng for starters. The lady who took our order is probably a Star Awardee for Service. She was either usually so attentive or she was amused by my family. We heard her saying "orang cina bukan cina" a few times in her conversation with her colleagues. She was even answering questions I asked among my family members. She was obviously observing us. My mum looked the cutest trying to toss the yusheng using chopsticks. She laughed happily and gamely pose some shots I took using my camera phone. It was just a simple dinner to celebrate. It has been quite a while since we dine out together. I definitely enjoyed myself learning more about Chinese culture and how to use the chopsticks proper.
